The aim of this course is to familiarize students with environmental laws and refer them to the way of developing Environmental Impact Assessment Studies, with the outcome of which will be necessary to acquire the necessary knowledge to prepare and develop the Environmental Impact Assessment Study as well as the ability to perceive the impact of human activity on the environment and participation in the protection of the environment.

Theoretical instruction deals with the concept and significance of the environmental impact assessment, and the main aspects are environmental legislation, as well as the stages in the preparation of the project on environmental impact assessment. It also deals with the analysis of the sensitivity of environmental factors, the prediction of immediate and indirect harmful effects of human activity on the environment, as well as measures to prevent, reduce and eliminate harmful effects on the environment and human health. Other segments are studies on strategic assessment and issuance of an integrated environmental permit, as well as the final phases of the impact assessment process. An important part is the participation of the public in the preservation of the environment, as well as the analysis of existing impact assessment studies. Practical classes are based mainly on visits to the agencies that deal with the Studies, as well as the analysis of the existing ones. In practice, students should propose monitoring of some environmental indicators, and before that, they themselves should be trained for the same, and recapitulate knowledge from chemical analyzes.
