Classes from The Basis of Toxicological Analysis 1 aims to provide students with basic knowledge about the methods used to identify and determine toxic substances in biological, environmental and food samples, as well as knowledge and skills in the preparation of samples for the analysis of toxic substances.

Theoretical part of this course provides students with the necessary knowledge about the methods used in identifying and determining toxic substances in samples of biological origin, environment and food, in particular, students will be introduced to the basics of electronic spectroscopy, basic principles of spectrofluorescence and spectrophosforosence, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and modern chromatographic techniques, as well as their application in quantitative and qualitative analysis. In addition, students will be acquainted with modern instruments used in the analysis of toxic substances, methods they are used and the instrument constituents. Theoretical lessons include introducing the candidate with the concepts of toxicity, as well as the techniques of work, sampling, standard and reference samples. Practical lessons from The Basis of Toxicological Analysis 1 enables students to manipulate modern instruments, as well as the ability to master the appropriate software packages that accompany the instruments.

As a result, candidates in this course are provided with the necessary knowledge of the micro methods used to analyze toxic substances in biological samples, food samples and the environment, and acquire practical skills and knowledge with the possibility of their application in research laboratories that contribute to the promotion of environment protection.
